"Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie - Who hasn't eaten their's,  Holler I"

Unfortunately, the peaches have come and gone for the 2011 season but just in time to make room for all the apples and pumpkins that are starting to be harvested.  That's right, the Mac's have attacked and are tasting great!

Even though these well-known apples are found at the local grocer throughout the entire year, nothing beats a MacIntosh apple picked fresh at the start of the harvest season - CRUNCH!  MacIntosh are not just a great eating apple but they are also an excellent apple for applesauce, jams, and baking.  Try mixing MacIntosh and Cortland or Red Corts, an early Cortland variety, together for an exceptional apple pie.

Did you know that there are over 3000 apple varieties grown in the U.S.?  How many have you tried?  Although many of the varieties have been out of production for quite some time, you can find over 20 varieties at the farm throughout the season.  Why not challenged yourself this year to sampling all of them and crunch, crunch, crunch away!
